The Journey Behind Rohit Kandwar Travel Vlog

My connection with travel has developed gradually over the years. What began as a simple curiosity about places I had never seen became a genuine desire to experience different landscapes, cultures and ways of life firsthand.

Travelling has also become a way for me to step outside my usual routine and see the world from a different perspective. I enjoy taking the slower route, spending time in the mountains, walking through unfamiliar trails and discovering the character of places beyond the usual tourist paths. Hiking, trekking, solo journeys and exploring the Himalayas have therefore become an important part of my travel experiences. Each journey brings something different, whether it is a new landscape, a conversation with local people, an unexpected challenge or simply a quiet moment in nature.

I'm Dr. Rohit Kumar, my real name, a Ph.D. in Computer Science specializing in Cyber Security. I am also known publicly as Rohit Kandwar, the name I use for my travel blog, social media profiles, and online identity. I am a passionate traveller, trekker, vlogger, and storyteller from Patna, Bihar, India.

Despite a 9-to-5 corporate job, I believe travel is the best way to learn, grow, and reconnect with nature. As a solo budget traveller, I explore offbeat destinations, hidden gems, Himalayan treks, and breathtaking landscapes.

Through my vlogs, I share travel guides, itineraries, budget tips, trekking experiences, and local culture to inspire working professionals, students, and travel enthusiasts to make time for adventure.

My first solo journey to Tirthan Valley became an important turning point in the way I looked at travel. Travelling alone gave me the opportunity to make my own decisions, spend more time observing a place, and experience a journey without having to follow someone else's plans or expectations. More than simply visiting a destination, I became interested in the small details of travel, the people I met, the trails I walked, and the experiences that are often missed when a trip is rushed.

As my interest in documenting these experiences grew, I started sharing my journeys through photographs and videos. This eventually led me to create my YouTube travel channel , where I could record not only the destinations I visited but also the practical experiences, challenges and moments that made each journey memorable.

Travelling was not always a continuous part of my life. After spending some time away from exploration, I returned to travelling in 2022 . Coming back to the mountains and spending time outdoors gradually brought travel back into my routine. I began paying greater attention to hiking trails, local surroundings, photography and the experience of travelling independently rather than simply collecting destinations.

By this stage, I wanted to create a dedicated place where my travel experiences could be documented in a more organised and lasting way. In 2023 , I professionally launched RohitKandwar.com as my travel website and public travel identity. Since then, the website has become a place for me to share journeys, travel stories, photographs, videos, useful information and lessons gathered from travelling and exploring.

This website is more than simply a collection of travel stories. It is a place where I share my experiences from the road, particularly my journeys through the Himalayan region , along with hiking and trekking adventures, encounters with nature, travel insights, practical information and lessons learned along the way.
